Walter Chrysler began DeSoto as a mid-price alternative to his regular Chrysler products. Production began in 1929 and continued until the end of 1960.
No two cutouts of this piece are exactly the same. If heat marks form during the cutting of a piece, we leave it. Also know that our mild steel is stored outdoors in the weather and it changes over time. So it’s alway possible there could be mild surface rust. And if there are blemishes, marks or indentations, those are left in the steel too.
At the car shows, it always seems like it’s the distressed ones that go first. So if you like your stuff shiny, this cutout is probably not for you. That said, we cut this logo from mild steel that is a little thicker than 1/8 inch thick.
